Resident Artist and instructor sharing Studio 113 at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, 421 Cawston Ave in Kelowna.
I have always been interested in creating with fibre; I love it’s tactile, organic nature. Most recently, I became intrigued with the textile hardener, Paverpol and began creating sculptures that can be displayed both indoors and outdoors! I also believe in reusing- repurposing. I believe this fueled my interest in turning old t-shirts into sculptures. I often ask myself before discarding an item, whether its paper, fabric, glass or plastic bottle - whatever – Can I use this in a sculpture? I thoroughly enjoy challenging myself to keep objects out of the landfill by using them in my creations.
